Although it’s not yet the end of the proper year, for us it seems that way because we moved into our unit two years ago in August, we feel so blessed with the support from our customers and friends and we have grown in so many ways, not just sales. The business is taking off with new idea’s, products and recipes coming thick and fast and we just want to say a great big THANK YOU to everyone.
Some of the highlights from the summer shows
Without doubt we’ve been to some amazing shows this year with the Cheese and Chilli shows, Great Dorset, West Dean, Fleet Food Festival (by fuse projects) and many other smaller shows but no less important, it’s been a fantastic year.
One of the highlights for us was that we won the best hot sauce and best medium sauce at the Guildford Cheese and Chilli show this year. Thank you to everyone who voted for us.
Now, I know, we all know that it’s a really good thing to enter the sauce competitions at shows and so often we forget to enter them in time, however this is extremely shortsighted of us and we intend to be better organised in future 🙂 it really helps customers to have confidence in buying the products and we know it makes sense, plus its really exciting to win and have validation from our customers that were on the right track.
We bought out four new products this summer all have been very well received by our customers with the new Jerk Cooking Sauce steaming ahead and taking the lead in the mild to medium sauce category of our sales.
Christmas is coming, look out for the new!
Well it’s been quite a year and now the nights are drawing in and the mornings are getting darker and as traders we are well into thinking about Christmas and booking events. To support much of what we do we have created a New Blog This is where we get to share lots more with you, recipe’s, event dates, films, all sorts, we’ve wanted to get this right for a while, had a couple of stabs not getting it right, we now believe we have the platform to grow a whole infrastructure to support what we are doing.
Bernie and I are having fun creating recipes & photos, learning how to present it well, especially lots of fun eating the results! We hope you enjoy following some of the recipes that will be coming over the next year.
That seems to be a job in itself so if anybody has got any tips or time on their hands and wants to swap a bit of their expertise for some sauce I would be very grateful for your help.
Bernie is off to St Lucia
Earlier on in the summer Bernie’s dad had an accident and crashed his vehicle and as he is in his 90’s he is taking some time to recover. We thought it best if the Chef got a bit a time to go home, see his Dad and cook some good food for him. He’s off for 9 days in October, it’s been eight years since he went home so it will be good to have that break and get a rest. I’m sure his Dad will be overjoyed see him and will mend all the quicker.
Whilst Bernie is away we will not be at any markets or events, however the online shop will still be manned by myself and I will be posting your orders out as they come in. Look out for some special surprise gifts in your box if you order between October 1st -21st
